Maharishi Bonsai Championship Backgammon set. Each board is championship size and is finished in handtooled leather. Each board is handmade to order by the same craftsmen responsible for the Alfred Dunhill Backgammon sets.
The bonsai forest camouflage the outer part of the board is clad in is maharishi’s house camouflage pattern. It represents camouflage from maharishi’s perspective, aiming to detach it from its military associations and promote its natural roots and artistic influences. This theory is described in DPM Disruptive Pattern Material, a 944-page encyclopaedia of camouflage by Hardy Blechman.
With olive and orange being a key part of maharishi’s visual identity, representing nature, military, high visibility and the robes of Buddhist Monks, Tigers vs Dragons are obvious team colour choices.
These are hand made to order and will be delivered within 8 weeks of your order.
