The artwork depicts 'Tu'er Ye', the Rabbit God - a deity related to Chinese folklore specific to the region of Beijing. Predominantly seen in the Mid-Autumn festival held on the 15th day of the eight lunar month. A festival that commemorates the bounty of the harvest and moon, as it appears especially full and bright during this time.
