250gsm · 100% Cotton

Traditional Black Watch tartan interpreted in a 250gsm yarn dyed hand loom brushed cotton. The Black Watch or Black Guard from which this tartan takes it’s name originated with a group of renegade Scots recruited by the English King to check troublesome Highland Clans in 1725. It’s subdued colourway, in contrast to most tartans, acted as camouflage on the moors and glens of the highlands. As it is considered a Government or Universal tartan it can be worn by anyone from any family, regardless of clan affiliations.
