Maharishi Autumn '25 · The Highest Place
Maharishi’s latest collection, THE HIGHEST PLACE, continues the Maha Tailor Shop’s expedition into Alaska, offering novel interpretations of traditional Maha codes.
Often known as the "Last Frontier," Alaska was sold by Russia to the United States in 1867 and stands as a symbolic meeting point between East and West. This unique geographical and cultural crossroads serves as a key inspiration for the collection, which draws from the region’s Indigenous heritage. Traditional wool-weaving techniques, long practiced by Native Alaskan communities, are reinterpreted throughout.
Tribal patterns and Indigenous American symbols are also incorporated, including the broken arrow, a sign of peace that resonates with Maharishi’s core values of harmony and balance. By merging traditional artistry with contemporary design, the collection pays tribute to Alaska’s layered history while aligning with Maha’s ongoing commitment to cultural reverence and sustainable storytelling.

The collection also introduces two innovative new DPM, which are core features of Maha’s seasonal creative output
The first, DPM: KorOm Pointillist, is an evolution of the DPM: Korean Om, reimagined with pointillist snow particles, which enhance the pattern’s textural depth.
The second, DPM: Bonsai Tigerstripe, is a reworking of the DPM: Tigerstripe, a pattern originally worn by the Vietnamese ARVN, inspired by the former French coloniser’s lizard pattern, that was later adopted by U.S. advisors and special forces. Maharishi has introduced Aum symbols and elements of nature including Bonsai trees growing from heavenly clouds to the original abstract disruptive pattern, reflecting its peaceful standpoint and philosophical grounding.

The collection features a considered mix of materials, ranging from British-made wool-tweed to organic cotton and hemp.
These are complemented by technical fabrics chosen for their performance and durability. This blend of natural and engineered textiles underscores the collection’s balance between tradition and innovation.
