EVERYTHING FLOWS · BE HERE STILL

Maharishi’s latest collection continues the perennial exploration of duality and pacifist military design, combining Eastern and Western influences on a range of silhouettes including signature kimonos, trousers, and iterations of technical outerwear.

Duality is a central pillar of Maharishi’s creative ethos, often represented through depictions of the Yin and Yang. The idea of two opposing forces finding balance in an infinite back-and-forth, simultaneously complementing and contradicting each other while connecting to the natural world, is displayed through the Panther-Chimera artwork. Each half represents a starting point for change, continuously chasing its counterpart in a never-ending search for equilibrium.

The celebration of military design from a pacifist standpoint is also a central theme of the collection. The Pax Cultura and Peace Dove works – two traditional symbols of peace – are hand-machine embroidered onto signature Maharishi styles such as Original Snopants®. Furthermore, iterations of upcycled military clothing – a continued feature in Maharishi’s seasonal offerings – enhance this peaceful perspective by re-appropriating military surplus for a sustainable and pacifist purpose.

The collection also includes the new seasonal DPM: Reflective Sparse Bonsai, which coincides with the 20th anniversary since Maharishi’s founder, Hardy Blechman, released the DPM encyclopaedia – an in-depth exploration of camouflage as an artistic form. It serves as an updated take on the original signature Maharishi pattern, DPM: Bonsai Forest, which was conceived in 1999 and depicts symbols of peace and nature such as bonsai trees growing from heavenly clouds. DPM patterns are a key part of Maharishi's exploration of camouflage. They serve to reclaim its identity from military use and remind us of its peaceful origins in art and nature.

Seasonal fabrics include British-woven herringbone wool, Japanese recycled nylon, and brand staple materials like sustainable hemp and organic cottons, whilst some designs highlight utility through modular elements and built-in functional features.

The collection is available on 25th July at 11:00 a.m. BST online and in the London and New York stores.
