In a recent conversation with i-D, Richard Russell and Jonny Banger trace the XL bomber back to the label’s early rave history and discuss its latest incarnation with Maharishi.
When Jonny proposed reworking the original jacket, Richard pointed him towards Hardy Blechman — bringing XL Recordings, Sports Banger and Maharishi together for the three-way collaboration.

Maha Tailor Shop is an imagined workshop rooted in the independent tailor shops of 1960s Vietnam. These local businesses altered uniforms, reproduced clothing and made embroidered souvenirs for visiting servicemen.
