Hemp is a maharishi staple – a strong natural fibre that is naturally resilient to pests, reducing its dependance on masses of harmful pesticides.
It’s tall, weed. As above, so below; the roots of the hemp plant are large and so when cropped, a lot of plant matter is left underground. As it decomposes, it enriches and strengthens the soil in which it grows.
In SS19, we’ve combined hemp with organic cotton sweat and jersey – offered in a garment dyed bright infrared, as well as charcoal, white, navy and maha olive. Some seams have been left with a raw edge to exploit the visual effect of the garment dye process, resulting in an aged, worn-in feeling.
