maha Boro

maha Boro takes inspiration from the Japanese practice of reworking textiles through piecing, patching & stitching — techniques also utilised in maharishi’s Upcycling Programme.

Born on the island of Honshu during the Edo Period where there was little choice other than to repair and re-use, boro often utilised layers of hemp — a fabric routed deep within the heritage of maharishi — as cotton could not be cultivated in the cold climates.

Boro epitomises the Japanese Aesthetic of ‘Wabi-Sabi’, or finding beauty in transience and imperfection.

The capsule includes a MA65 Kimono, Crew Sweat, Shirt, T-shirt & MA65 Cargo Pant across a colour palette of Black, White & Mil Olive.
