MAHA MACK LETTER draws on a distinctive style of blackletter typography that originated in medieval Europe before becoming established in American sportswear. Later popularised through New York's independent shops offering personalised felt iron-on lettering, it was adopted by street gangs, B-boy crews and early hip-hop artists including Grandmaster Flash and Run-DMC, before crossing into British punk through The Clash and Big Audio Dynamite.
Maharishi has developed its own interpretation of this lettering tradition, drawing on its original forms and cultural history to create MAHA MACK LETTER.
