3rd Pattern · Peace & Happiness Embroidery
This 3rd pattern U.S. Army style field shirt, a design enhanced for jungle warfare, features a hand machined back embroidery and is customised by the MAHAPATCHCO. with a vintage deadstock 66th Infantry Division WWII patch.
The MAHAPATCHCO. liberated a cache of U.S. Army patches manufactured between the 1940s-60s. Many of the stock boxes are dated 1944, suggesting the Army Stores were well over stocked when WW2 ended in 1945. Large stockpiles of unissued military uniforms, patches and insignia were also abandoned during the speedy withdrawal from the Vietnam War.
1960’s era U.S. Army cotton poplin, reproduced exclusively for Maharishi. This lightweight cloth was introduced when the U.S. were invited to advise in Vietnam, and required a lighter cloth suitable for tropical conditions.
